This pincushion was much more difficult. I couldn’t get it to go together smoothly. It’s totally wonky. Ugh! If you want the pattern, you can find it here.
I got a $25 parking ticket today in front of my own house. Why? Because I didn’t have my front license plate on my vehicle. I have had my vehicle for 5 years. I have lived in my house for 10 years. I’ve parked my 5 year old car in the same spot for 5 years. And today the gig was up. GRRR! I promptly pissed and moaned to my dh who put the plate on before I could really have a meltdown. And then he put his on his car… Which he should have done when we got the cars. I have no clue why he didn’t. I really don’t.
In other news, I haven’t written since the end of So You Think You Can Dance. I’m happy with the outcome of Joshua winning. I do wish in the end, it had been Twitch, but I am not bummed that Joshua won. He is a great dancer and has a wonderful personality. And who could feel sad at watching his family dance in the aisles as he stood on stage crowned “America’s Favorite Dancer”. =) My mom, SIL, daughter and I will be seeing the tour in September. I cannot wait. I missed the tour last November (with last season’s cast) because I was in the hospital. My daughter went with my cousin’s adult daughter and friend. Not the way I had planned it. I will be at this show for sure! =)
This is a quilt I finished in July for my best friend’s birthday. Pardon all the wrinkles!!! She lives in Texas, so I had to ship it to her rather than getting to see her reaction in person. She called me in tears. She was so thrilled with it. =) My favorite part of the quilt is the half circle border. It was a huge pain, but totally worth it. I think it makes the quilt!
In my desperation to find something to do while laying in bed I found this new website. Twist Collective. What a fun, new knitting site. Yay! I love how it is put together and how you can scroll through the patterns. Awesome.
I woke up this morning not feeling great. Dragged myself to work for a few hours and then gave up and went home. I feel like I’ve been runover by a truck. =( Back to school germs are the best, aren’t they?
My son’s hermit crab died today. The crab molted and didn’t survive it. I don’t understand. =( He wasn’t my favorite pet in the world, but my ds was upset. I feel sad for him. =(
I closed my Knitterland blog some time ago and felt so sad everytime I had something to say or a project to show off. I may not post here every day, but at least I will keep this place up since WordPress is free. Knitterland was on Typepad and I really didn’t feel like spending an annual fee to keep it up.
So what have I been doing since you last heard from me? I finished up my third quarter of school with an A+ in both classes (Accounting 1b and Access). I’m off for the summer, but will be starting English 1A at the end of August and Managerial Accounting at the end of September. It is a long, slow process but I can say I’m very pleased with my decision to go back to school. I can’t believe how fast the year went, in spite of all my health issues.
Workwise – I’m really enjoying my job. My company had some major changes and I’m now in charge of my department. I have one direct report and I’m hoping that this is the start of something very good!
Craftwise – I just got back a quilt I finished some time ago. I’m very happy with how it turned out. I’ll post a snippet picture of what it looks like. This quilter did an amazing job on it. I could NOT be happier!
I’ve also done some sewing, lots of reading and catching up on tv. I got sucked in to Big Brother 10. I wasn’t going to watch, but I heard this is the last season and I have watched every other season so I felt compelled to watch.
I’m also enjoying The Mole, Burn Notice, Weeds 4 (OMG, such a good show) and of course So You Think You Can Dance. I’m so bummed that Will was voted off last week!!!!
